The Tamang Society of America (TSA) has raised serious concerns over alleged unauthorized changes to the signatories of its organization’s bank accounts and says it is preparing to take legal action.
According to TSA leadership, the organization recently discovered that signatories on its main bank account had been changed. The account had previously included President Tul Bahadur Tamang, removed General Secretary Chandani Lama, and Treasurer Bishnu Tamang. TSA says it later learned that the account had been changed to list removed officers Chandani Lama and Niru Tara Yonjan.
A similar concern has been raised regarding an account associated with TCBC. TSA states that Indra Tamang, who had been the Society’s official representative and signatory for the account, was reportedly removed and replaced by Chandani Lama and Niru Tara Yonjan.
TSA leadership maintains that these changes were made without an official organizational decision and without following the Society’s bylaws and required procedures. The organization says the matter has raised significant concerns about the control and protection of TSA’s financial assets.
TSA says it is formally notifying the bank and consulting legal counsel to determine the appropriate legal steps to challenge the alleged changes and protect the organization’s accounts and property.
The issue has also prompted calls for transparency and accountability. TSA is asking members and concerned community stakeholders to provide relevant information, suggestions, and support while the matter is being reviewed.
The allegations described above are TSA’s position regarding the disputed bank-account changes. The organization says the matter will be addressed through the appropriate banking and legal processes.
