Tamang Society of America Condemns Human Rights Violations Against Nepal’s Youth Protesters

The Tamang Society of America has expressed deep concern over the recent violent crackdown on peaceful rallies led by Nepal’s Gen-Z youth. The society strongly condemned the excessive use of force, shootings, and suppression by the state, calling it a grave violation of democratic values and human rights.

The peaceful demonstrations were organized mainly to protest against corruption within the government and to reflect the growing frustration of the youth over the lack of accountability. Instead of addressing these grievances, the government resorted to violence and even imposed a ban on social media platforms, further restricting citizens’ rights to free expression.

With lives lost and hundreds injured, the organization extended condolences to the victims’ families and urged the Nepali government to end state violence, ensure accountability through impartial investigation, and protect citizens’ right to peaceful expression.

The Tamang Society of America also calls on every parent and guardian to raise their voice for their children’s future, education, and safety. Enough is enough — the voices of the youth must be heard. The society appeals to the international community, human rights defenders, and Nepali civil society to stand in solidarity with the victims and share these events widely with international mainstream media.

The Tamang Society of America has officially released a press release regarding this issue, reaffirming its solidarity with the victims and commitment to justice.
