TAMANG SOCIETY of AMERICA

The 12th General Convention, held on March 16th, has marked a historic milestone for our community. Capturing the essence of this memorable event, a series of photographs have now been made available for all members to view.

The 12th Convention of the Tamang Society of America in New York City was a historic and highly successful event marked by unprecedented public participation. Out of 670 registered voters, 501 cast their votes, making this the highest voter turnout in the society’s history. Tamang community members from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut actively engaged in electing their new leadership team for the 2025-2027 term.

We are pleased to announce the newly elected officials and their respective votes:

 * Senior Vice President: Santa B. Tamang – 243 votes

 * Vice President: Dhutraj Dumjan – 248 votes

 * Women Vice President: Uma Tamang – 241 votes

 * General Secretary: Chandani Lama – 259 votes

 * Secretary: Raju Lama – 255 votes

 * Women Secretary: Soniya Moktan – 241 votes

 * Treasurer: Bisnu Tamang – 246 votes

 * Joint Treasurer: Niru Tara Yonjan – 250 votes

The success of this general convention was made possible by the dedication and hard work of Election Officer Br Lama, Sanu Maya Tamang, Raju Tamang, and other supporters. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this event a milestone in our community’s history.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to all the candidates who participated in the election. Their participation ensured a democratic process and a fair and peaceful election. Their commitment to the community is highly valued.

We also express our deep appreciation to former President Buddhiman Tamang and his team for their invaluable contributions. During his tenure, President Buddhiman Tamang generously donated $20,000 to TCBC President Indra Tamang, demonstrating his commitment to the community’s growth and sustainability.

Additionally, we acknowledge and appreciate Srijana Lama and Akkal Tamang’s generous contribution of $5,000 to the trustee’s account.

TCBC President Indra Tamang shared his heartfelt appreciation, stating: “I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank outgoing President Mr. Buddhiman Tamang for his thoughtful decision to support the upliftment of the trustees. I would also like to express my gratitude to Srijana Lama and Akkal Tamang for their generous contribution. On behalf of the entire Tamang Cultural & Buddhist Center family, thank you for your dedication and generosity.”

तामाङ सोसाइटी अफ अमेरिकाको १२औं अधिवेशन, १६ मार्च २०२५, सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न भएको अवसरमा, म र मेरो टिमलाई अमूल्य मत दिई विश्वास गर्नुभएकोमा सम्पूर्णमा हृदयदेखि नै धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्न चाहन्छौं । तपाईंहरूको यो भरोसालाई आत्मसात गर्दै, संस्थालाई अझ मजबुत बनाउन हामी अघि बढ्नेछौं। तपाईंहरूको सल्लाह, सुझाव, र सहयोग निरन्तर रहनेछ भन्नेमा हामी ढुक्क छौं !

यस ऐतिहासिक अधिवेशनलाई सभ्य, भव्य, र शान्तिपूर्ण रूपमा सम्पन्न गराउनु हुने प्रमुख निर्वाचन आयुक्त बी.आर. लामा, निर्वाचन आयुक्त सानुमाया तामाङ, राजु ब्लोन, स्वयंसेवक सजुन थोकर तथा सम्पूर्ण स्वयंसेवकहरू, पत्रकार साथीहरू एंव हामी सबैलाई मोलम पाठ गरी आशिर्बाद दिनु हुने लामागुरू डुङ्जिन रिन्पोछे लगायत सबैमा हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त गर्दछौं!

त्यसैगरी, समुदायलाई जीवन्त बनाउन महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्नु भएका मेरा प्रतिस्पर्धी शम्मशेर योन्जन, र उहाँको टिमलाई पनि विशेष धन्यवाद ज्ञापन गर्न चाहन्छौं!

यस निर्वाचन प्रक्रियामा भएको प्रतिस्पर्धा संस्थाको बृहत्तर हितका लागि थियो। यसले गर्दा ६७० जनालाई एउटै ठाउँमा ल्याउन सफल भयौं। यहाँ व्यक्तिगत जित वा हारको विषय होइन, संस्थाको समृद्धि र एकताको विषय हो। तसर्थ, हामी सबै तामाङ समुदाय मिलेर एकजुट हुनुपर्छ। हाम्रो साझा लक्ष्य तामाङ समाजको उन्नति, एकता, र उज्ज्वल भविष्य सुनिश्चित गर्नु हो। त्यसैले, हामी सबैलाई संस्थाको सुदृढीकरणका लागि हातेमालो गर्न हार्दिक अपिल गर्दछौं!

यस अधिवेशनलाई सफल बनाउन अहोरात्र खटिनु हुने निवर्तमान अध्यक्ष बुद्धिमान तामाङ, वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष चिना लामा, कार्यसमितिका सबै सदस्यहरू, पूर्व अध्यक्ष तथा सल्लाहकारहरू प्रति हार्दिक नमन व्यक्त गर्दछु।
